This host is part of a research project conducted by the RWTH Aachen University. This research project involves internet-wide scanning and includes benign HTTP requests issued to a large part of popular websites. By visiting these websites, we are able to detect and investigate patterns of malicious content provided unconsciously to users and their ways of distribution.

All requests made by this host follow common standards and are RFC-compliant. This host will never try to overcome any security measures including, but not limited to, password guessing, exploit any security issues or make use of misconfigurations.

Purpose of this research project

The data collected during this project helps researchers to understand and track the different ways of distribution of phishing and other social engineering attacks. Later on, we can use this data to enable the use of more comprehensive mechanisms to detect phishing and other dangers found on the internet.
